Renovations: Stucco Removal, James Harding Siding Installation, Roof Replacement, Gutter Replacement
A Kennett Square homeowner was fed up with the deteriorating exterior of his two-story colonial, caused by a failed stucco. In addition to ruining the home’s curb appeal, the stucco had numerous cracks and was causing moisture intrusion. The wood trim was rotting, and the roof, gutters, and soffits were all in dire need of replacement.
After receiving a referral from a neighbor, the customer contacted Distinctive Homes. Our initial meeting with the homeowner included a thorough needs assessment, measurements, and photos to create 3D models. We also provided a full proposal including the cost estimate, contract, warranty information, options, and anticipated timeline. Impressed with our comprehensive process, he chose to hire Distinctive Homes to revamp his home and restore its beauty.
Before installing the new siding, we removed the old stucco and remediated the mold and rotting wood that had resulted from moisture infiltration.
Based on our recommendation, our client chose low-maintenance James Hardie fiber cement siding as a replacement. Made from a mixture of sand, wood fiber, and Portland cement, fiber cement siding is strong, beautiful, and yields a high return on investment. We rounded out the project with a new roof, soffits, fascia, and gutters.
Our client was thrilled with his home’s new look and delighted that we finished the project on time and within budget. With three generations of building and renovation experience in the Kennett Square area, Distinctive Homes provides its clients with a full-service source for all of their home remodeling needs including: stucco repair and removal, siding installation, windows and doors, roofing, gutters, and downspouts, custom home building, and other renovation and remodeling projects.
